1942 'My Military Missal' Named to Francis Koldenschlag (Af 33763789)
This heavily used and worn Bible belongs to Francis B. Koldenschlag (AF 33763789) who was an Air Force veteran of WWII and later served in the Korean War. This 1942 Bible was carried by this service member throughout his service in the Air Force during the entire length of World War II. The outside of the Bible shows heavy where as this was most likely kept in the pocket or jacket of Koldenschlag while in combat. The inside of the Bible was inscribed with his name as well as the serial number for ID purposes. This bible was gifted to Francis by his father F. Koldenschlag and had the families street address written on the inside. Information such as this was written on by soldiers and family members in case their son was shot down and ID’ed through the objects on him.
