This original WWII ‘RESTRICTED’ 1943 dated training booklet was given out pilots and crews operating WWII aircraft flown off U.S. aircraft carries, naval ports, and controlled airstrips during WWII. The pilots and crews being trained with book would have flown combat missions on some of the most famous fighter planes and patrol aircraft of the war. This rare early war training manual was printed by the U.S. government printing office in 1943 and was used by all personal operating in both the Pacific Theater and European Theater. Created by the ‘Training Division’ and ‘Bureau of Aeronautics United States Navy’ a book like this would have been essential in the training of U.S. pilots and crews the importance of spotting enemy naval ships and planes. It not only taught the importance, but also what to look for first, how to respond as well as how to write a ‘force landing’ and ‘crash report’.
This book is part of a collection of WWII training manuals and books given to WWII training servicemen before shipping off to the various theaters of operation. These books were intentionally designed with humorous hand drawings, simple to read diagrams, as well as easy reading passages so ALL servicemen regardless of their educational background could understand and learn the material being presented to them.
