This V-Mail letter was written by Cpl. James Hickey to his mother while serving with the 1st Provisional Marine Brigade during WWII. Cpl. James Hickey is recorded as serving with the 41st Replacement Battalion, as well as the 1st Provisional Marine Brigade where he participated in the American assault of the Japanese occupied island of Guadalcanal. This letter was written while on July 7th, 1944 during the closing months of combat on Guam. The letter also contains the censor stamp in the upper left.
