This incredibly rare and historic artifact is an original wood deck fragment from the WWII battleship USS North Carolina (BB-55), which served with distinction as one of the most decorated U.S. Navy ships of WWII.

The USS North Carolina BB-55 was a highly regarded American battleship that played a pivotal role during World War II. Known as "The Showboat," it was the first of the 10 fast battleships built by the United States Navy that saw extensive action in both the ETO and PTO.

Throughout its service, the USS North Carolina participated in every major naval campaign in the Pacific, providing crucial support during key campaigns such as Guadalcanal, the Philippine Sea, and Leyte Gulf. The ship earned 15 battle stars for its WWII service, making it one of the most decorated American battleships of WWII.
