This incredibly rare and very historic piece of WWII history is an original U.S. 9th Air Force uniform patch worn by a World War II U.S. 9th Air Force pilot.

The 9th Air Force was a crucial Allied unit in World War II, primarily operating in the European Theater of Operations. Initially providing close air support in North Africa, they later supported major operations like the D-Day landings and Operation Market Garden.

Flying aircraft like the P-47 Thunderbolt and B-26 Marauder, they conducted diverse missions from ground attacks to other strategic air command missions.

Notable pilots like Lt. Col. William J. Crumm and Lt. Col. Glenn E. Duncan distinguished themselves as some of the most famous pilots of the 9th Air Force during WWII. The 9th Air Force's contributions were instrumental in Allied victory in the ETO.
