This near mint condition booklet titled, “Songs of the Soldiers and Sailors - US” was issued by the Commission on Training Camp Activities of the Army and Navy Department. This rare 1st edition copy was printed in 1917 and is named and inscribed to World War I Captain 'H. S. Brown’. On the front of the cover is inscribed by the captain in pen, “Property of Cap’t H. S. Brown. 489 Aubrun Ave. Buffalo N.Y.”. This 62 page book contains more than 50 songs sung by A.E.F. soldiers and sailors. This book was used as a way to increase soldier moral while in training camps, boats heading to France and in the trenches of WWI.
