This incredibly rare and historic piece of history is an original wood deck fragment from the WWII battleship USS Texas (BB-35), which served with distinction as one of the most infamous U.S. Navy ships of WWII.

The USS Texas (BB-35) had a distinguished service history during World War II, playing a vital role in both the ETO and PTO.

The USS Texas (BB-35) participated in Operation Torch, Operation Dragoon (D-Day of Southern France), and was also crucial during the D-Day invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944, where it provided support at Omaha Beach and Pointe du Hoc, providing essential support to Allied forces.

Transferred to the Pacific Theater, the USS Texas (BB-35) supported during the infamous Iwo Jima and Okinawa campaigns.

Over the course of WWII, the USS Texas earned five battle stars.
