This incredibly rare and very historic piece of WWII history is an original U.S. Army 70th Infantry Division uniform patch worn by a World War II U.S. Army soldier of the 70th Infantry Division.

The 70th Infantry Division, also known as the "Trailblazers," was a distinguished unit that served with valor and distinction during World War II. Comprised of brave soldiers from various walks of life, the division played a crucial role in numerous campaigns across the ETO, contributing significantly to the Allied victory.

One of the earliest campaigns in which the 70th Infantry Division participated was the Battle of Normandy, following the Allied invasion of France on June 6th, 1944, commonly known as D-Day. The division landed in Normandy in late June and immediately joined the fighting to secure and expand the beachhead. Despite facing heavy resistance from forces, the Trailblazers demonstrated exceptional courage and resilience, advancing inland and capturing key objectives.

After the success in Normandy, the 70th Infantry Division continued its relentless advance across France. They participated in the liberation of Paris in August 1944, fighting alongside other Allied units to free the French capital.

One of the most significant campaigns in which the Trailblazers played a pivotal role was the Battle of the Bulge, which took place from December 1944 to January 1945. The 70th Infantry Division was quickly redeployed to the area to reinforce the defense. Despite harsh winter conditions and fierce resistance, the division bravely held its ground, helping to thwart the enemy advance and eventually push them back.

Throughout their service in World War II, the 70th Infantry Division distinguished itself through bravery, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to duty. The Trailblazers' contributions to the Allied victory are a testament to their courage and valor, and their legacy continues to be honored by future generations as a shining example of the best of America's military tradition.
