This incredibly rare and very historic piece of WWII history is an original U.S. Army 4th Infantry Division uniform patch worn by a World War II U.S. Army soldier of the 4th Infantry Division.
The 4th Infantry Division, known as the "Ivy Division," played a pivotal role in World War II, beginning with the D-Day landings at Utah Beach and their advance towards Cherbourg.
As part of Op. Cobra, they broke through lines in Normandy, then rapidly moved across France. The division endured tough conditions in the Hurtgen Forest, preparing them for a crucial role in countering the Ardennes Offensive during the Battle of the Bulge. Throughout these campaigns, the 4th Infantry Division exemplified bravery, resilience, and skill, significantly contributing to the Allied victory in the ETO.
We authenticate our piece of history at the micro level! During the authentication process sometimes we use high-res microscopes. In the last image of the listing, I included a few high-res images of the 4th Infantry patch that was done during this authentication process!
This would make an amazing addition to any WWII, Army, or military enthusiast collection.
