This incredibly rare and very historic piece of WWII history is an original U.S. 15th Air Force uniform patch worn by a World War II U.S. 15th Air Force pilot.
The 15th Air Force, established on November 1, 1943, was pivotal in the Allied aerial missions during World War II.
Commanded by Major General James Doolittle, the 15th Air Force utilized aircraft like the B-17 Flying Fortress, B-24 Liberator, and the infamous Tuskegee Airmen P-39 and P-51 fighter escorts flown by the Tuskegee 332nd FG, earning fame for their "Red Tail" aircraft.
The Tuskegee Airmen and 12th Air Force exemplary performance not only proved their prowess on missions but also significantly contributed to the equality of the U.S. Armed Forces, leaving a lasting legacy for generations to come.
We authenticate our piece of history at the micro level! During the authentication process sometimes we use high-res microscopes. In the last image of the listing, I included a few high-res images of the 15th Air Force patch that was done during this authentication process!
This would make an amazing addition to any WWII, Air Force, military, or aircraft enthusiast collection.
