The Normandy landings were the landing operations and associated airborne operations on Tuesday, June 6th, 1944 of the Allied invasion of Normandy in Operation Overlord during World War II. Codenamed Operation Neptune and often referred to as D-Day, it was the largest seaborne invasion in history.

Located halfway between Omaha Beach and Utah Beach, Pointe du Hoc dominates the sea from its vertical cliff on the D-Day coastline. On D-Day, the U.S. 2nd and 5th Ranger Battalions were given the task of scaling the cliffs of Pointe du Hoc and capturing the strong point. The Operation Overlord D-Day Ranger mission of Pointe du Hoc is referenced as the single most important and most dangerous mission of the entire operation.

This incredible and very rare piece of historic WWII history is D-Day Pointe du Hoc cliff sand that was preserved during a professional D-Day preservation effort during the 50th D-Day anniversary in 1994.

This would be an amazing way for your history buff to have a truly one-of-a-kind D-Day bracelet that is a real conversation starter!
