This interesting and one of a kind World War II artifact was carried throughout the war by a WWII veteran who saw combat fighting the Axis powers in the European Theater of Operations. These two bills are taped together and tell a very unique and interesting story. One banknote dated by the soldier, August 18, 1943 containing an estimated 25+ signatures of mens and soldiers in his division. While the specific infantry and division of this soldier is unknown it can be traced by the liberated towns in Europe he wrote on the banknotes as they were captured and liberated by U.S. and other Allied forces. This bank notes contains the hand written towns of “Le Mans, Paris, Bordeaux, Italy, Belgium, Holland, and many other countries. Because of the large number of GI signature on this note, it most likely contains many KIA, WIA, and MIA soldier’s who can their lives and fought valiantly for this country during WWII.
