WWI IRIS PARIS EIGHT LENSE ARMY LONG RANGE BINOCULARS W/COMPASS & CASE
These 'Army' long range eight lenses glass optical binoculars still have the original black leather casing as well as case shoulder straps and binocular strap grip. The short letter strap attached the binoculars is considerably short and would have been wrapped around the hand of the officer or soldier using them in the field to provide more steady support. These binoculars are marked 'ARMY' and 'LONG RANGE' as well as having an addiction compass and 1-12 central focusing wheel to gauge adjustment.
Well the binoculars and case remain in good condition, the glass does maintain a couple cracks and dance from their previous use in the field. The right lenses is cracked and broken at the eye end but still works considerably well. While the binoculars have the
'IRIS PARIS' and 'FRANE' manufactures mark, the leather case is marked as 'MADE IN ENGLAND'.
It is believed that during World War I these binoculars were used by either a British or A.E.F. soldier.
