This WWII era Type 94 Japanese canteen harness was it bring back of the Pacific Theater by a U.S. WWII veteran. The canteen harness itself has an olive green appearance and a ‘salty’ look. The canteen buckles show average wear and rust, as many of these metals were subjected to harsh and salty ocean environments in the Pacific Theater. What makes this canteen strap so unique and rare is the hand-sewn tan cloth Japanese kanji identification tag showing outward on the canteen harness. While the Japanese soldier name is not transcribed, this extremely personal World War 2 artifacts was carried by a Japanese soldier who was either killed, captured, or wounded as the Allied forces began to push their way closer to Japan.
