This unreleased early WWII era Japanese photograph shows a rare look into an overlooking Japanese infantry looking down over a hill crest. This photograph shows Japanese soldiers in full combat gear with their helmets, bayonets attached to their rifles, as well as a katana, and Japanese machine gun. Photographs such as these are extremely rare, especially original photos depicting such a large combat group such as this. This photograph is one of 10 brought back by U.S.M.C. soldier who served on Iwo Jima and other Pacific Islands fighting against the Japanese. The photo is in incredible condition given its age.
