This original WWII Bronze Star medal is in near-mint condition. This the most complete collection of a named “Bronze Medal” you can get as it contains all 3 of the original awards on the inside including the medal, bar, and pin. The presentation box is in very solid condition and is still very sturdy. E. L. Loftin severed in the U.S. Navy during the course of WWII where he received this medal for heroic action in the line of combat. Other than his rank as a Petty-Officer of the U. S. Navy we are unable to find his ship or whether he served in the European or Pacific Theater.

The Bronze Star Medal was established by Executive Order 9419, 4th of February 1944. The metal contains very little scuffs and marks and the original pin is still in very sturdy condition. The Bronze Star Medal is a United States decoration awarded to members of the United States Armed Forces for either heroic achievement, heroic service, meritorious achievement, or meritorious service in a combat zone. Today, it is the fourth-highest ranking award a service member can receive for a heroic and meritorious deed performed in an armed conflict. For those who receive the BSM, it is a signal of their sacrifice, bravery, and honor while serving their country.
