This original associated Press International news photograph is dated November 4th, 1940 and shows a rare look of German soldiers in combat. The back of the photograph displays the original cut lines reading “The gunman pulls the string to set off a charge”. Photographs such as these are becoming harder harder find. This photograph was used in a 1940’s era newspaper printing as it has the original black pen and marker lines over the photo. These marks were only made on published photos, as the lines were drawn to increase visibility and more stark contrast when being printed in black and white.
