As the U.S. sent troops to the front lines, artists and photographers were recruited to encourage those at home to do their part. The Associated Press played a huge role in WWII by implanting photographers in combat with the front line combat troops. For the first time, citizens back home and otter military men fighting in other theaters were able see first hand images.
