This original WWI map is a hand torn section from a larger french WWI map that is believed to have most likely been torn by an A.E.F. officer who used it while fighting with the 103rd Regiment (26th Division) of the U.S. Army during World War I. This map features many hand drawn annotations showing American and German trench lines and advancements throughout the Forét d’AmblonviIle sector. Maps such as these were torn so that they were more easily carried in the pockets of officers and easier to reference when looking at them on the front lines. The inscription hand written on back of map appears to read, "Travaux sur la Bastelle D'Ambionville”. This map is in heavily used condition and shows amazing history of a historic WWI battlefield.
