The Normandy landings were the landing operations and associated airborne operations on Tuesday, June 6th, 1944 of the Allied invasion of Normandy in Operation Overlord during World War II. Codenamed Operation Neptune and often referred to as D-Day, it was the largest seaborne invasion in history.

On the morning of June 6th, 1944, the U.S. Army Rangers and two U.S. infantry divisions, the 1st Infantry Division, and the 29th Infantry Division, landed at Omaha Beach, the second to the west of the five landing beaches of D-Day. Omaha Beach was divided into ten sectors, codenamed (from west to east): Charlie, Dog Green, Dog White, Dog Red, Easy Green, Easy White, Easy Red, Fox Green, Fox White, and Fox Red.

This incredible and very rare piece of D-Day history was preserved during a professional preservation of Omaha Beach in Normandy during the 50th Invasion Anniversary in 1994.

This June 6th, 1944 D-Day Omaha Beach "Piece of History" keychain display contains a mixture of sand from every D-Day Omaha Beach sector of the CHARLIE, DOG, EASY, & FOX sectors! This would be an amazing way for your history buff to have a truly one-of-a-kind keychain to add to their backpack or work bag!
