VERY RARE WWII German Painted "FIELD HOSPITAL" Combat Theater Road Sign
Comes with C.O.A.
This incredible World War II German black and white painted field sign reads “Feldlazarett” or Field Hospital. Original German combat field signs are extremely rare. While this iron sign does show a fair amount of where you can still see the two holes which it was used to hang on either a road post or building siding. German combat medics were extremely skilled and would often set up field hospitals near operational front liens to take in mass casualties of wounded German soldiers.
Field medics during World War II regularly entered intense combat zones, risking their own lives to save those of their fellow soldiers. Due to dwindling numbers of trained physicians late in WWII, many German Army medics later began to operate alone or in two-man teams, sometimes even in conjunction with Allied field medics during brief truces after especially bloody combat.
